Government to start construction of $ 2 billion satellite city near Bulawayo
The Zimbabwean government will launch a $ 2 billion satellite city project near Bulawayo, the country’s second largest city, the spokesman for the presidency said this week.
According to his comments relayed by the information website The Herald , the project called “Hopeville Housing Project” should be carried out by the company Thompson Properties.
It should consist of the construction of approximately 20,000 luxury homes, shopping malls and upscale recreational facilities at a site near Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport.
The first phase of the project, estimated at $ 100 million, should include housing, a shopping complex, a gymnasium, a library, three schools, offices of the administrative authorities, and churches.
It should be noted that, thanks to this project, which is part of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s development plan, the authorities hope to create thousands of jobs. Source: Public
