Coca-Cola Beverages Africa acquires 60% of Eswatini Beverages
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has acquired a 60% interest in soft drinks business Eswatini Beverages.
The remaining 40% interest in the company is owned by Tibiyo TakaNgwane – a Swazi sovereign wealth fund.
Eswatini Beverages will now operate as a subsidiary of CCBA and be known as Eswatini Coca-Cola Beverages (ECCB).
ECCB country manager Sanele Khumalo in a release on Tuesday assured stakeholders that every effort would be made to minimise disruption to customers.
ECCB has appointed Logico Unlimited as its official distributor for Coca-Cola products in Eswatini.
Khumalo said Eswatini customers would benefit from being part of a consolidated Coca-Cola ecosystem that spans the continent, creating new opportunities for everyone across the value chain.
“Access to shared best practices will enhance efficiencies and a better distribution capability will provide pervasive availability of cold beverages to customers,” she noted.
CCBA is the eighth-largest Coca-Cola bottling partner in the world by revenue and the largest on the African continent – it accounts for 40% of all Coca-Cola products sold in Africa by volume. Source: Engineering News
