* Melec Powergen’s Thika Power, the target, is a diesel-fired plant 38 kilometers northeast of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi;
* Plant connected to national grid in 2014 under 20-year power- purchase agreement with tariff of 17.981 shillings per kilowatt- hour;
* Actis declined to comment on subject, citing confidentiality requirements;
