Saint-Gobain acquires LODHIA Gypsum Industries Tanzania
Saint-Gobain completed the acquisition of 50% stake in the company LODHIA Gypsum Industries based in Arusha, Tanzania, on the border with Kenya.
LODHIA Gypsum Industries manufactures and markets plasterboard to markets of Tanzania, Kenya and neighboring countries. The company employs 90 people and has a factory in Arusha.
It allows Saint-Gobain to assert its role as leader in the market for plasterboard in East Africa.
This operation is part of the strategy of Saint-Gobain Group to expand its presence in sub-Saharan Africa where it is already present in South Africa.
